CONFERENCE AWARDS

OBJECTIVE

The aim of the Awards for best work presented at the ACEDE-Spanish Academy of Management (ACEDE) Conference is to acknowledge and encourage research in Economics and Business Management.

CHARACTERISTICS

Three prizes will be awarded:

ACEDE Award to the best paper of the Conference. Awarded to the best paper whose authors express their interest in participating in the award contest.

ACEDE Award – Novel Researcher. Awarded to the best paper among all the papers by novel researchers. Authors must express their interest in participating in the award contest.

ACEDE Section Awards Awarded to the best paper presented in each division at the Conference. Authors must express their interest in participating in the award contest of a specific division.

PARTICIPANTS

Works presented at the Annual ACEDE Conference that have been accepted as oral papers may participate in each Call.

In order to participate, authors must explicitly indicate, at the moment they send their work for evaluation, which awards they wish to apply for.

The requirements needed to qualify for each award are:

ACEDE Award to the best paper at the Conference

  • This award grants recognition to the best research and all the papers presented may be elected to for the award, independently of the number and characteristics of the authors or co-authors.

  • The author or co-authors must explicitly specify if they wish their work to be eligible for this award.

  • The prize is awarded to the paper and is received by all the co-authors of the work.

ACEDE Award – Novel Researcher

  • This award intends to stimulate and acknowledge the work undertaken by young researchers. Only novel researchers, this is, doctoral students (registered in the conference as such) or those researchers who have defended their doctoral thesis not more than two years before the date of the Conference, may participate in the award.

  • Eligible works for this award must have a maximum of three (3) authors, meeting the aforementioned conditions, by at least one of the authors.

  • This prize cannot be awarded to all the parties of the work; instead, it will rest exclusively on those authors who have met the aforementioned requirement set out for novel researchers. Consequently, novel researchers could be eligible even though they have sign their works with their thesis supervisors.

  • The author or co-authors must explicitly indicate when they wish to enter their work in the contest in this modality.

ACEDE Section Award

  • This award intends to acknowledge the best research work presented in the different divisions of the Association and the work can be nominated only in case where the author has expressed his/her interest in entering the contest award of a particular section. Each work can only be allowed to enter in one section.

  • The award is given to the paper and is received by all parties of the work.

AWARDS

All the awarded works will be published in electronic format in the ACEDE web site.

Cash Prizes:

The ACEDE Award cash prize of 2.000 euros.

ACEDE Award- Cash Prize for the Novel Researcher of 1.000 euros

The awards for the Divisions are honorary, except if the the corresponding section establishes a cash prize, then in this case it will not exceed 1.000 euros.

The awards can be declared void.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

The jury of each award will write-up a list of the final works selected among the works presented at the Conference, and that have opted to enter the award contest. The selection will be made with the information given by the Scientific Committee based on the reports carried out by the reviewers.

The number of finalists for the ACEDE Award will vary between a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 12 papers.

The number of finalists for the ACEDE Award-Novel Researchers will be a maximum of 15% of the works selected by the Scientific Committee or 3 works, if the this percentage results in a total number less than 3.

The number of finalists for the Section Awards will be a maximum of 15% of the works selected by the Scientific Committee or 3 works, if the this percentage results in a total number less than 3.

The finalist works will be published in the ACEDE Conference web site prior to the date of the Conference.

The jury of each award will select one prizewinner among all the finalist works.

THE JURY

The ACEDE Conference award jury consists of:

It will be made up by the ACEDE President, or a person who he/she delegates the task to, the President of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, or a person he/she delegates the task to, and by another 3 members designated by the Board of Directors of ACEDE.

The ACEDE Award Jury – Novel Researcher is made up by the ACEDE President, or the person he/she delegates the task to, and by two members designated by the Board of Directors of ACEDE.

The ACEDE Award Section Jury is made up by the President of the corresponding division, or the person he/she delegates the task to, and by two members of the section designated by the Board of Directors of ACEDE proposed by the section.

ORDER OF ALLOCATION OF AWARDS

The final decision of the jury shall be made by the majority of votes of its members, and the following order of allocation is established in case that more than one award is given to the same work;

If a winner of the ACEDE Award-Novel Researcher or of a Section Award is selected as the winner of the ACEDE AWARD, only the latter will be given; the ACEDE Award-Novel Researcher and Section Awards will be passed on to the work that came in second place.

If a work that is the winner of the Section Award is selected as the winner of the ACEDE award-Novel Researcher, only the latter will be given, and the Section Award will be passed on to the work that came in second place.

JURY´S DECISION

The jury´s decision of all the awards will be made public in the closing ceremony of the Conference.

ACCEPTANCE OF THE NORMS

The participation of the Awards is subject to the acceptance of the conditions aforementioned.

The jury´s decision cannot be appealed, nor can any of the participants to the award contest claim for damages or legal action of any nature.
